Catedral de Sal

This morning Mike and I head out on our own. Maria drops us off at the Puerto Norte and we take a 40 minute bus ride to the town of Zipaquira where we will vist the popular site of the Catedral de Sal. It is an underground Catholic church built by salt miners within the tunnels of the mine. We travel the Stations of the Cross and enjoy an interesting tour, whether you are religious or not, it is quite a tribute to the faith of these proud Colombian Catholics.

After we have another wonderful lunch in the old town at La Komilona de Andres, and head back to Bogota by bus.

Rodrigo picks us up at the large and crowded bus terminal, the city is now at it’s usual pace with tons of traffic and people, and we return to Maria’s (having already checked out of the hotel) to await an evening of salsa dancing.20160106_222819_resized

We settle into the perfect place after a couple of trys and we dance the night away at Galeria Cafe Libro (this is one of those moments where I failed to take pictures).
