Bogota, Colombia

While mostly old historic buildings there were also special new architecture, like the library on the far left.

Last night we visited the Santuario de Monserrate after dark and traveled by cable car through the night sky. A stunning view and at the top you find the Basilica and a very nice restaurant, Casa San Isidro, where we enjoyed drinks and dinner. The city seems so expansive as we return by cable car. 20160104_201543

20160104_201705_resizedToday we had so many choices but we settled on a leisurely morning of walking through the Botanical Gardens and then Maria and Rodrigo returned to work.  Mike and I found our way into the city to see the National Museum. It is not large but very impressive and beautiful. We also experience our first bit of rain in the late afternoon.20160105_110509_resized 2IMG_0868
