Journey into the Southwest

FALL IN LOVE

Fall in Love in a quite absolute, final way.

What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything.

It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning,

what you will do in the evenings,

how you spend your weekends,

what you read, whom you know,

what breaks your heart and what amazes you with joy and gratitude.

Fall in Love, stay in Love, and it will decide everything.

My husband and I have been admirers and sometime students of a Franciscan priest by the name of Fr. Richard Rohr of Albuquerque, NM. It has been many years since we attended one of his retreats so we were very excited to have the opportunity to attend the annual ‘Conspire’ event this year. The website is here if you are curious for more info. (Be advised he offers an alternate view from the traditional but we find him to be enlightening and inspiring.)

This was also the beginning of a week vacation between the cities of Santa Fe, Taos, Durango and finally Ouray, CO. We are blessed to have this time together and share in what we expect to be another opportunity for spiritual growth, mutual bonding and just plain fun! Hope you like the pictures and they inspire you to get out there yourselves!

One of my highlights of the conference was getting to meet Dr. Oz!  He is an fan of the speakers and was here with his wife for the sessions. He is just as nice as you would imagine!

We stayed at two lovely B & B’s! In Santa Fe at the El Rey Inn which had the sweetest gardens and cottages. Also at the Casa Benavides Inn in Taos which was within walking distance of the plaza and all the shops and restaurants. They both provide a nice breakfast with your stay!
