Buen Camino

We must have heard this refrain dozens of times today as we began our first day on the Camino as official pilgrims. Mark came into Leon by train at 3 a.m. We were happy to have him join our party! The four of us began our trek early this morning and before we knew it we had walked 10 miles and were ready for lunch in the little town of Chozas de Abajo. We ate bocadillos (sandwiches) of ham and cheese, I preferred the sardins with tomatoes, putting our feet up for another hour and then we were off to Villarreal de Mazarife where we found a nice, clean albergues. We took a shower, shared a room and are off to see the little town. Susie is using her spanish and doing very well, Tia Emma should be proud! The Camino so far is turning out to be all we hoped for!BUEN CAMINO!!

    Buen Camino dear Pilgrim!
Sounds like a perfect first day on the Camino. Enjoy each moment and fully appreciate every moment, bite, and drink along the way.

      Dear Bobbie
I felt like a true pilgrim today. I had a personal experience that reflected what I hoped would be a Camino experience. I also had fun with fellow travelers meeting people from France & Germany. Having a little trouble posting on blog. Have to keep it short. Bummer.
